The Resident Evil 2 Remake is now highly anticipated as Capcom is remaking the old classic game to bring back Leon S. Kennedy & Claire Redfield facing fresh horrors in Raccoon City. Based on the horror classic Resident Evil 2 released for the original PlayStation console release in 1998, the Resident Evil 2 Remake was first announced by Capcom back in 2015, after years of repeated begging by fans.
The remake was confirmed at E3 2018 by Sony with a release expected on 25th January 2019. During the keynote, Capcom debuted the extended trailer which revealed the game’s characters and modern gameplay. Using Capcom’s proprietary RE engine, Resident Evil 2 Remake is expected to be released on PC, PS4 & Xbox One to offer a fresh take on the classical horror saga.
In this game players join Leon S. Kennedy, a rookie police officer one his first day of task & college student Claire Redfield facing the disastrous outbreak in Raccoon City which transformed its population into deadly zombies. Happened 2 months after the events of the original Resident Evil game, both Leon and Claire have their own separate playable campaigns for players to see the story from both characters’ perspectives.
A major change in Resident Evil 2 Remake is the usage of the adaptive difficulty which has been introduced in Resident Evil 4 thus there won’t be specific set difficulty options like in the original release. Like recent Resident Evil games – the more you die, the easier it gets. However that doesn’t mean the more you die, the less scary it gets.
The changes make this release a more tactical game as it is not about killing everything you come across but how you intelligently handling enemies as well as conserving your ammunition. You might be running on limited ammo but instead of just recklessly shooting zombies to keep them away, the game gives you more options as each enemy has a full deformation model which means that every bullet you shoot cuts visceral damage into the approaching monsters.
Minimum and recommended PC specifications requirements for the game have also been released. Fortunately players on PC likely don’t need a major upgrade as you won’t even need a very recent processor to enjoy the recommended – play experience. The recommended specifications suggest that Resident Evil 2 will not rank among the most demanding premium games thus making itself accessible to more PC players.
